She received her IAMPETH Certificate of Proficiency in 2023 and Certificate of Excellence in 2024. She credits her hand and eye training through courses from her teachers Nina Tran and Connie Chen.Maxie's love for pointed pen started in 2016 when, during in an in-person workshop, a "The wand chooses the wizard" moment happened for her when she first wrote with a pointed nib. She enjoys other calligraphy nibs and brushes but she gravitates towards the cursive form and the natural swells that the pointed nib makes. Her goal in this workshop is to share that same joy that sparked her lifelong love for calligraphy.
