Orthodontists in Calgary
An orthodontic consultation should establish what is being assessed before you choose braces or aligners. Explore Calgary options by the professional responsible for the plan, whether specialist care is being offered and how routine dental care will continue during treatment.
Use the comparison checklistCheck who is responsible for the plan
Use the College of Dental Surgeons of Alberta as the starting point for checking the treating professional and specialist registration. Ask the office whether your consultation is with the person who will direct treatment. If someone else takes scans or handles routine visits, ask how the responsible dentist reviews them. A clinic offering aligners is not, by that fact alone, evidence of specialist orthodontic registration.
Compare the whole course, including retention
Ask the professional to explain the concern being addressed, the proposed appliance and any alternatives. Have the office set out what records, adjustment visits, replacement appliances and retainers are included. Discuss what happens if the plan changes, an appliance is lost or you move before treatment ends. Keep the estimated active-treatment period separate from retention arrangements. A monthly payment quote without the total commitment and exclusions is difficult to compare.
