Eavestroughs in Calgary
Overflow at one corner does not establish that every eavestrough needs replacing. Cleaning, repairing a connection and replacing a run are different services. Describe where water appears and what work you want assessed, including the downspout outlet and the surfaces below it.
Use the comparison checklistDescribe the problem along the full route
Tell the contractor where overflow, dripping or staining has been observed, without attempting an inspection at height. Ask whether the visit covers debris, joints, hangers, fascia and outlet connections. Cleaning may be the relevant service even when replacement is available. A leaf-screen proposal should explain what maintenance it still needs and whether the proposed product fits the existing troughs; a maintenance-free claim is not a useful specification.
Include the outlet, not just the roof edge
Request a plan showing which runs and downspouts change and where each outlet ends. Ask how that arrangement relates to the property grading and neighbouring surfaces. Calgary contracting guidance is a starting point for documenting the scope and responsibilities. If fascia, soffit or roofing damage is discovered, specify how approval for extra work will be obtained. Cleanup should include removed metal and debris, with any landscaping reinstatement clearly assigned.
