Analog Coffee operates multiple specialty coffee shops across Calgary and nearby areas, with its first location opening at the Calgary Farmers Market in March 2011. Founded by the Prefontaine brothers, whose family has roasted coffee in Calgary since 1974 through Fratello Coffee Roasters, the chain now includes about a dozen spots in Alberta, seven within Calgary city limits. Key locations serve diverse neighborhoods: the flagship at 740 17 Ave SW in the Beltline, Bankers Hall downtown at 315 8 Ave SW, southeast Calgary's Mahogany at Westman Village (102 Mahogany Centre SE) and 510 77 Ave SE, Mount Royal, Red Mile business district, Southcentre Mall, University District, Jamieson Place at 308 4 Ave SW, and an outpost in Banff at 419 Banff Ave. The focus is on single-origin coffees, consciously sourced from regions like Colombia Antioquia (sweet and citrusy) and Kenya Gichathaini AA (fruity and complex), plus signature espresso blends such as Godfather Espresso. Coffees are carefully roasted to highlight natural bean flavors. The menu features café fare including cinnamon sticky buns, cronuts, and breakfast items sourced from local partners like Corbeaux Bakehouse. Each café provides a stylish atmosphere for guests, with baristas preparing drinks to emphasize coffee terroir and quality. Operating for over 15 years, Analog Coffee maintains ties to its Calgary roots while expanding intentionally into community-focused spots.
