Bankside Fish Creek Provincial Park offers a welcoming picnic area located on the West bank of the Bow river in SE Calgary. Like most places in Fish Creek Provincial Park it is easy to forget you’re in a city with a population of over 1.2 million people. The steep bank directly across from the picnic area is called the wall of fish. Named by fly fisherman as this section of the Bow river holds large brown and rainbow trout. A boat is needed to access the bank. Park entrance is located on Bow Bottom Trail near the communities of Parkland and Deer Run. Nearby Communities include Deerrun, Queensland, Douglasdale and Deerridge
