Carburn park is located next to the community of Riverbend on the East bank of the Bow river in S.E. Calgary. It offers several welcoming picnic sites and a paved pathway around three ponds that are fed by the Bow river. These ponds attract several varieties of bird life with plenty of benches to observe them from. It is also a popular area for testing canoes and kayaks and is used for the watercraft MECfest. The park has some interesting trails near the Bow river. Some of these trails will make you forget you’re in a major city. This is one of Calgary’s best parks for nature lovers. Winter skating is also available. Nearby communities include Riverbend, Lynwood, Quarry Park, Ogden and Douglasdale.
