Our cities parks and pathways are an excellent way to relax and enjoy the local outdoors. With over 10,000 hectares of recreation land area and the longest (700km) urban paved pathway system, it is easy to enjoy yourself while exploring the city. Several of the parks offer family friendly picnic sites complete with picnic tables, fire pits, covered cook houses and sporting facilities. Fish Creek Provincial Park Park, located in South Calgary is one of the largest urban Provincial Park parks in Canada. The Provincial Park park is over 20km wide, running from Calgary’s west side city limits, east to the Bow River. Almost every community enjoys a nearby recreation area.
