It is associated with faecal incontinence with a significant negative impact on children, teenagers and their families.There is often a delay in seeking help due to a lack of understanding of the symptoms, embarrassment or concern about negative reactions from healthcare professionals.This evidence-based session will explore constipation in children, including its causes, assessment, and treatment options.Objectives:To know the prevalence, impact and causes of constipation and associated soilingUnderstand the factors that may impactBe able to undertake a basic assessmentBe aware of treatment optionsBe able to work with confidence with affected children and familiesBe able to find further reliable resources, information and supportWho can attend?This training is intended for all healthcare professionals who work with children in any setting.
