Calgary offers a large variety of sports clubs for all ages with a wide range of general interest clubs for children and adults. Several of these organisations are city wide while others are administered at a local community level. All of the local community sports, excluding general interest clubs may require a community association membership. he Bow Valley Lawn Bowling club welcomes everyone to come play lawn bowling in a fun and relaxed environment. We provide both competitive and recreational play. The Bow Valley Lawn Bowling Club has been a fixture in the Calgary’s Hillhurst neighbourhood for over 85 years, since 1932. It has been recognized as a historical resource by the City of Calgary. Calgary Lawn Bowling Club as part of Lawn Bowls Alberta follows the Long Term Athletic Development Model (LTAD). In doing so we recognize that bowlers can start at any age and move through the stages at different rates. We help our members be active for life and have activities suited to the different levels of bowlers; recreational bowlers who just want to be active and enjoy the sport, competitive bowlers who want to be active, enjoy the sport and compete as well as very competitive bowlers who also want to play at international levels. We are a lawn bowling club in Calgary Alberta located off Centre Street and 7th Avenue NW. We have 2 greens in use throughout the bowling season, where we play various social leagues and encourage competative playing in the more formal Alberta competitions. We provide all required equipment for your use and you only require to wear appropriate attire for the weather, and flat sole shoes to protect our green. Members City Wide
