Located in SW Calgary, Woodbine was developed in 1980 along with Woodbine 4 years earlier in 1976. The Woodlands Community Association was formed in 1980. To better serve the needs of the area, the Woodbine and Woodlands Communities amalgamated on January 29, 1992 and the Community Association name was changed to Woodcreek Community Association. It now represents the 15,399 residents of both communities.

A Community Association membership is a great way to support your community. They are inexpensive and voluntary. A valid membership is usually required to participate in recreational, social and educational programs from soccer to girl guides, karate to yoga, stampede breakfasts to senior programs, movie nights and much more! Several Calgary recreation centres will also provide a discount for community association membership holders.

Volunteers are the heart and soul of our community. There are over 20,000 volunteers in the Calgary community association network, making it the largest volunteer movement in the city! Without volunteers we wouldn't be able to do the things we do. Volunteers are needed for programs, fund raising casinos, community association tasks, family events, community events, sports and much more. Please contact the association directly if you are interested in volunteering.

In 1987 a Community Centre building (approximately 1000 sq. Ft.) was built at 1991 Woodview Drive S. W. In 2010 we added a 2500 sq. ft. addition with a full basement. We now have a facility that can better serve the needs of the community and provide a ven- ue for meetings, banquets, dances, birthday parties, etc. The Woodlands, Woodcreek Community Centre has rooms available for rent to community members and the public. Woodlands, Woodcreek depends a great deal on the revenues generated from hall rentals for the operation of the entire facility.
