Elboya Heights Britannia Community Association416 Park Ave SW
Elboya Heights was annexed to the City of Calgary during the economic boom of 1910s, however, the community did not undergo substantial development until about 1947. Elboya was originally farm land located south of Calgary and the Elbow River and the original farm house for the land stood in Elboya at the corner of Britannia Drive and Crescent Blvd until about 2005. Today the community is a vibrant and active one with something to offer everyone. Close to downtown and with easy access to major commuter corridors, Elboya offers access to a large number of local amenities, and at the same time is known for it's green space and easy access to the Elbow River and Stanley Park. Elboya’s sister community, Britannia to the west with nearly 300 dwellings, was developed in the 1950s. Elboya shares Britannia’s commercial area and access to the Britannia Slopes/Sandy Beach natural park. Britannia shares Elboya’s schools, recreational facilities and community hall. The two communities have collaborated over the years on planning matters, playground construction, social events and Block Watch. The Community Association for Elboya Heights was founded in 1960 about 5 years after the community was completed. In November of 2017, the association merged with the Britannia Community Association. We invite you to become a member of our Community Association and visit our website.
Volunteers are the heart and soul of our community. There are over 20,000 volunteers in the Calgary community association network, making it the largest volunteer movement in the city! Without volunteers we wouldn't be able to do the things we do. Volunteers are needed for programs, fund raising casinos, community association tasks, family events, community events, sports and much more. Please contact the association directly if you are interested in volunteering.
