Calgary Mural Competition Saturday March 15th
Celebrate Alberta Wilderness with the 2014 Calgary Tower murals! Each year the variety and quality of the artwork produced has been impressive: “The dull, grey interior of the tower is gradually being transformed into the tallest art gallery in the west.” The competition 's theme is Alberta Native Species in its Habitat. Murals featured an Alberta native species in its habitat. No specific style requirements are defined.

March Community Association Membership Awareness Month

Federation of Canadian Artists Art Show and Sale
The Federation of Canadian Artists is having an exhibition at the Edgemont Community Centre, Saturday March 8 from 10am to 4pm. All paintings are juried and will be of the highest quality. A large variety of styles, sizes and mediums will be shown. Realism to abstract in a wide range of subjects: acrylic, oil and mixed media techniques available. Come out and meet the artists!

'Cat'urday Cat Adoption Feline February Event!
Join the Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society on Saturday February 8th for 'Cat'urday - a cat adoption event in celebration of Feline February! The event will run from 11am-3pm at the AARCS Safe Haven (Bay G, 3851 21 Street NE). All month long cats over the age of 6 months will have the special adoption fee of only $25!
AARCS mission is to improve the lives of animals by rescuing and providing sanctuary to abandoned, surrendered or abused animals; assisting communities to achieve healthy and respectful relationships with animals; promoting responsible and compassionate guardianship and advocating on behalf of all animals.

Calgary Kiwanis Music Festival February 24th to March 15th
The Calgary Kiwanis Festival is an educational, non-profit, charitable organization. It is one of approximately 250 performing arts festivals in Canada and one of the largest amateur competitive festivals in North America with approximately 4,000 entries and 12,000 participants annually.
Since 1931, the Festival has been an integral part of the Calgary arts community and remains one of the premier performing arts events on the Calgary arts calendar. It encourages classical and contemporary music and speech arts performance among amateur students of all ages and skill levels.
Youth 18 and under make up 95% of our participants. They have the opportunity to enter a variety of classes such as: band, strings, woodwind, brass, choirs, handbells, singing, piano, and drama. Each year, more than 20 highly qualified musicians and actors are hired to adjudicate their performances, ensuring that each competitor receives a written and verbal assessment.
